The first friendly of the summer was a convincing victory for Cheltenham against admittedly weak opposition. The match against Ellwood from the Forest of Dean was a memorial for Ellwood Player Peter Edwars, who died earlier this year.

Most of the team got an entire half on the pitch and John Ward changed the entire personnel at half time, giving first appearences to Scott Musgrove and Sosthene Yao.
