But the defender, after banning all talk of the result at the ceremony, finally experienced some marital bliss when slotting home the equaliser against Rotherham on Saturday.
The 26-year-old sprinted to the Stagecoach West Stand at Whaddon Road to salute his new wife Kate after scoring in the 1-1 draw.
Gallinagh said: "Last week didn't start well and it was very disappointing at Crewe, but it was something I had to put to bed straight away when I got on the coach after the game.
"I couldn't take it into the wedding, but it was hurting me and I told a few people who brought it up to get away, but it's forgotten now.
"To score the goal against Rotherham finishes a week I'll never forget and I saluted Kate, which the lads have given me some stick for, but I don't mind."
