Talk of the move from Whaddon Road has been quiet since it was mentioned two years ago at a very early stage.
But with Cheltenham racecourse bosses recently reiterating a desire to press ahead with their own redevelopment plans, Baker has confirmed he is due to meet with key figures next week to put together a potential business plan for a possible move.
Speaking at Town`s shareholder meeting, the Robins chief was quoted on the club`s official website as saying: "It`s still early days but exploratory talks are continuing.
"I like the idea and I think a new stadium always gives a boost to a club.
"There are a number of things that would need to happen before we see any firm decision but we`re still in discussions with the racecourse, the Jockey Club and the borough council."
