Southend V Cheltenham at Roots Hall - Match Preview

Woodrow banned but Hurst back

Cauley Woodrow is suspended for Southend's home clash against Cheltenham but Kevan Hurst returns from his ban.

Striker Woodrow saw red just five minutes after coming off the bench as a second-half substitute in Tuesday's 2-1 victory at Portsmouth and will have to watch from the stands against the Robins.

But winger Hurst is back in the frame having missed the trip to Fratton Park due to a one-match suspension.

Matchwinner Barry Corr will be assessed following a painful facial injury in midweek but is expected to be okay as the Shrimpers aim for a sixth successive victory in all competitions.

Cheltenham's trio of new loanees are set to be involved.

Mark Yates was busy on Thursday adding West Brom striker Kemar Roofe, Shrewsbury defender Connor Goldson and Bristol City winger Toby Ajala to his squad while letting young winger Zack Kotwica join Gloucester City.

And the trio will provide Yates with some selection headaches at Roots Hall after their midweek 0-0 draw with Bristol Rovers made it six league games unbeaten for the Robins.

That match also saw Jermaine McGlashan continue his return to full fitness after a month on the sidelines and the winger is pushing for a start.
