Vincent, who can play wide in midfield or up front, has signed a two-year contract with the Robins. He first came to the attention of John Ward during Ward's time as assistant manager at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Ward said "Ashley can play either wide or down the middle and he is certainly one for the future. That doesn't mean that he won't be featuring in the first team because he will certainly be a lot closer to our first team than he would have been at Wolves.
"That is the incentive for him and that is why I have given him a two year contract, so that he can concentrate on getting his career going.
"I know him well enough to know that this will not be a problem and the first thing we will be doing will be to sort out his best position."
Vincent, who recently played along side Paul Gascoigne for Wolves reserves, joined Wolves as soon as he left school, and spent 3 years scholarship there, playing for the U'19's, and the reserves.
