Cheltenham manager Mark Yates was pleased to come away from a physical encounter with Stevenage with a 1-0 win. Wes Thomas scored his sixth goal of the season to secure a valuable victory for the Robins and Yates was delighted with his team's efforts. Yates said: "They are a big strong side, they've got some good players, it was always going to be tough and it was almost a war of attrition. "I'm delighted with what was the best result of the season. We kept a clean sheet, Scott Brown made a couple of good saves which is his job and I thought defensively we were a lot more solid and organised. "It wasn't the prettiest of games with free-flowing football but sometimes you've got to meet different challenges and we did that."
