Cheltenham manager Mark Yates was "gutted" after seeing the Whaddon Road floodlights deny his side a potential victory over Southend. JJ Melligan`s first-half strike had put the Robins on course for the three points until the lights failed in the 66th minute. "There was only going to be one winner and I'm absolutely gutted for the players, supporters and everyone at the club." Yates said. "We just have to make sure we get three points when we play them again. It's an unfortunate situation and nothing else could be done. It's just that I thought we could have waited for 10 minutes. "The lights have gone out and three minutes later the game has been called off. I understand that the supporters have to come first but I thought we could have waited. "This was a massive game and three points would have put us right up amongst them. The performance was excellent and some of the football we played in the first half was superb."
