Yates was "frustrated, disappointed and angry" after another no-show from his charges at Whaddon Road saw struggling Lincoln go away with a 2-1 victory.
Town travel to local rivals Oxford on Saturday looking to put things right, and Yates told the club`s official website: "I`ve drawn a line under Tuesday and we know where we are as a group now. We were in on Wednesday to address that but it`s more frustration than anything else. I have no problems with the boys because we just need to get better.
"We watched the DVD and everything we had warned them about before the game came true. The results at recent home games haven`t been good and it`s something we cannot let get on top of us. However, at the start of the season, I think we would have taken 37 points and 10th place at this stage.
"I`ve had my moan and the players know my feelings but we now just need to get into a run of form for the next few games. There`s nothing better than a local derby to put an end to what happened on Tuesday.
"The players have been told in no uncertain terms of what I am expecting. They are a good group but they can be better than what they have been and I am looking for them to stand up and be counted."
